The DanceOff: Finals are here

Saturday, Dec. 6, 8 p.m. doors, 9 p.m. dance begins
This weekend, a total of 16 dancers who competed in public auditions earlier this fall season will finally get to the finals, with one rising through the ranks to be crowned the best dancer in the city! On Saturday night, Dec. 6, three judges will decide who is going to be the winner in the city's first ever The DanceOff competition.

“The goal of The DanceOff is to showcase some of the extraordinary talent we have in the Grand Rapids area while supporting a vital resource in our community to help more people achieve the safety and comfort we all deserve,” says Jonathan Williams, creator of The DanceOff and of the international speaker series, Failure:Lab.

These local dancers are a diverse mix of ages and styles -- ranging from contemporary to hip hop, and from funk to tap. They will compete on The Pyramid Scheme's stage for three guest judges: Amy Wilson (founder, Dance in the Annex, ArtPrize's 2014 Time Based Winner), Laura Armenta (choreographer, artistic director, movement arts educator), and Shirley Arill (Holland-area dance instructor).

The doors open at 8 p.m. to ensure you get a great view for a two-round battle of dance starting at 9 p.m. A final, third round will determine the ultimate winner.

Admission: $10
