The Thrift Shop: The Artful Discovery

Opening Saturday, June 7, 7 p.m. - midnight
"The musty scent; dust motes floating through forgotten treasures," writes Miranda Sharp, co-director of her second show, The Thrift Shop, at the Glitter Milk Gallery.

Not missing a beat after their wildly successful (and sold-out) opening exhibition last month, Sharp and her business partner/artist Josh McVety will transform their newly remodeled Glitter Milk Gallery into a thrift shop.

This curiosity-driven showcase of 20 artists will be responding to the theme of being thrifted to satisfy curiosity. I am sure it will throw off many who stumble in thinking they may have discovered a new antique store.

The gallery will feature event-inspired hors d'oeuvres just as they offered at their grand opening last month, but this time with a nod to French Modernism. They also will be providing a vintage clothing rack where you are welcome to take a garment for free just for visiting the gallery.

Participating in Thrift Shop will be artists Alexandra Johnson, Alice Gadzinski, Angela Cronk, Anna Van Milligen, Anthony Carpenter, Ben Antaya, Cassie McCarthy, Crummy Gummy, Evan Shiemke, Haley Hungerford, Holly Wright, Jenn Meade, Jess Simon, John Zobele, Josh McVety, Kayla Mattes, Matthew Hansen, Morgan Gesell, Sarah Jean Anderson, and Terra Lockhart.
