The Concussions: And the Mysterious Package

Spring's weather wasn't the only thing delayed this year after our never-ending winter: tulips seemed unable to yield up their color until after the Tulip Time tourists had left the area, and there is little hope if you go to the beach this weekend to sunbathe that you will be able to get in the water without the threat of hyperthermia.

But luckily for those in search of the feeling of surf and sand, on Saturday night at Founders Tasting Room The Concussion will not only be bringing their four honyoks to the stage for other honyoks, but they will also be delivering a new CD release just in time for summer.

Following up on their 2012 release of "Fall In Love With The Concussions," the foursome is returning to Founders with their next and third release, "Break Up With The Concussions."

If you have not seen this high-energy band perform in rubbery skull masks, their music feels ripped from the era of surfer garage band rock. It's heavy on the instrumental and so are the occasional guest artists joining them on stage.

They even have a few surprises packaged into their big release show and have invited Voda and The Boss Mustangs to open for them at Founders.

This is a winning trifecta ticket if you're into this music genre or simply need a beach fix but cannot stand the thought of going there on Saturday only to shiver from the breezes rolling in from the big lake.
