Vox Vidorra: X-Mas blues healer

Saturday, Dec. 20, 8 p.m. doors, 9 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Everything that Molly Bouwsma Schultz graces with her voice just gets better and better. It is why this female vocalist is in such high demand all over the city. But it is her latest band project, Vox Vidorra, that is once again giving you a reason to leave the comfort of your home as she heats up our area's stages.

This Friday, we have a rare chance to see the band that is playing out a lot these days in a great neighborhood bar that is truly a rare gem in this city, as each venture to the venue feels like a homecoming. Some spaces just have an untouchable sense of style and place without having to do anything.

But when Vox Vidorra arrives this time to the stage for a concert filled with indie, R&B, and hip hop, they do so with an impressive four WYCE 88.5 FM Jammie nominations for their release, Live from the Living Room (EP). Vox Vidorra has been nominated in the areas of Album of the Year, Best Album by a new Artist, Song of the Year-Go Your Way, and Best Blues/Soul Album.

And while you will have to wait until February 13 to see if they win any of these nominations, you can catch the magic of Vox Vidorra live on Friday. Opening for the band is Kalamazoo's Maraj.

Admission: $5.
