Rick Chyme & Nixon: Bald Since Birth debut

Every time that music artists Rick Chyme or Nixon returns to the stage with a new release, you can be certain of two things.

One, it will be a richly creative event packed full of guest artists and special acts carefully curated to produce maximum musical impact. Appearing with Chyme & Nixon at Founders’ Taproom stage will be The Accidentals and SuperDre, who will both deliver a range of sounds, from energetic folk to electronic dance music.

Secondly, unlike previous release parties, Chyme and Nixon’s performance at Founders will accompanied by a lush and stimulating visual show. This added element is sure to lift this event and others to follow within our community to new levels as Chyme once again sets the creative bar high.

The new release “Bald Since Birth” is more of a somber release but reflects the realities of Chyme and where he and so many of his guest artists including longtime collaborator Nixon are today.  (Nixon is now a father.)

There are many layers of content and different storylines happening simultaneously on “Bald Since Birth,” says Chyme, adding that themes of self analysis, self love, and self validation are all major characters running throughout the new release.

"Today" is the last song on the album, and, according to Chyme, it serves as a sort of resolution to observations made and the questions being addressed throughout the previous eight songs on the new release.

“People should not have any expectations of our art or what they will experience at our events from this point forward,” says Chyme, “I am getting closer to finding my balance, and we (as an act) are more inspired than ever.”

This concert acts as an unofficial after party to the Michigan Winter Beer Fest that will be taking place earlier in the day at the Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park.

Admission: $5 / 21+
