Local firm helps clients craft a better story

The fuzzy front end is a term sometimes used in product development to denote the space where ideas are generated.

For David Wenzel, founder of RobinHood Ink, that is an apt description of where he applies his craft as a self-described "idea architect."

"Most people I work with have a story idea," Wenzel says. "It could be a business plan or a motivation talk. Their goal is to share it."

Wenzel says he helps his clients, ranging from individuals to organizations in the early stages of developing their story, in order to make them more effective in their marketing and selling initiatives. "Most companies don't tell their story very well. Once you explain your idea, you can sell it better," he says.

Wenzel left another firm in the same industry, Dot&Cross, whose personnel moved to Los Angeles in 2011. Wenzel says he knew the Los Angeles lifestyle and cost of living was not what he was looking for at the time. He also knew he could serve clients anywhere in the world from Grand Rapids, so he elected to stay in West Michigan and start his own firm, RobinHood Ink.
