Van Andel Institute continues to add talent to development team

The Van Andel Institute (VAI) is growing their developmental staff with an eye on expanding their fundraising initiatives on a national level.

After a nationwide search that ended in June with the hiring of Love Collins, III as VP of development, the institute is now aggressively building their team with talent and experience.

According to Angie Stumpo, senior development assistant (the first hire for Collins), the VAI is a very attractive place to work. "The environment is very upbeat and proactive," she says. "No idea is a bad idea as we are gearing up to push the envelope on fundraising. The research [at VAI] is worldclass, so you end up touching the entire world."

Stumpo was the first of two recent hires, and VAI has two more development positions listed on their website here.

Besides the work environment at VAI, Stumpo is also bullish on living in the Grand Rapids area. "It's big enough to have everything you need, and small enough to connect with everyone," she says.
