Grand Rapids Community College is making some changes to become more energy efficient, resulting in an estimated $850,000 in savings over 15 years.

Steam purchased from Veolia Energy Grand Rapids, 156 W. Fulton St., will be used to power campus heating, hot water and air conditioning for nine college buildings, under a 15-year contract approved Monday by GRCC’s board of trustees.
