Home sales looking brighter on the lakeshore

There appears to be reason for optimism on the real estate front for homeowners on the lakeshore.

According to excerpts from MLive:

The number of homes sold along the Lakeshore in the first half of the year is down from last year, but on the whole the average sale price is on the rise.

The sales drop is not surprising as last year was fueled by federal home buyer tax credits that required purchase agreements by April 30 with an initial closing deadline of June 30. Buyers ended up getting a three-month extension on the close.

Despite the drop, Holland area Realtor Wendy Holstege said she is seeing robust activity. She has been telling people since the first of the year that the bottom has been reached.
