Pure Michigan ad campaign responsible for job growth in tourism industry

A recent study points to an increase in tourism jobs due to the success of the Pure Michigan ad campaigns.

According to excerpts from MLive:

The study points out that in 2009 visits to the state rose 23 percent compared to 2006 when the campaign was launched.

In 2010, despite budget cuts, the ads generated 838,000 visits to the state with each visitor spending $372, providing a state tax return on investment of $3.33 per $1 spent. Best of all, there were 10,000 more jobs in tourism in 2010 than there were in 2009.
