Entrepreneurs Tom Damitio and Matt Knaack are registering as a nonprofit that plans to put a hostel for travelers in Grand Rapids' Midtown neighborhoods.

Ideally, the 20,000-plus square-foot home would have room for 20 to 30 beds would be ideal, they said. Some of the rooms would have congregate sleeping areas while other rooms would offer private or semi-private accommodations.
