Local residents seek to catalyze entrepreneurship through small grants

An East coast, grassroots foundation targeting entrepreneurship launches in Grand Rapids.

According to excerpts from MLive:

The foundation "devoted to forwarding the interest of awesomeness in the universe" operates locally autonomously but was begun in Boston by a group of 10 friends who wanted to give others a shot at success at pursuing an underfunded dream. Each member gives $100 a month and that money is pooled and directed toward an applicant of their choosing.

"We really want people to chase their dreams and do something awesome," Bronkema said. "I've seen young people, artists and talented people with great ideas, but they struggle to get off the ground because of money."
