Fire-damaged grocery store in Alger Heights to reopen as Ken's Fruit Market

According to WZZM 13, a Grand Rapids neighborhood grocery store in Alger Heights heavily damaged by fire in 2006 will be reopening as Ken's Fruit Market, bringing new life to the area.

According to excerpts from the story:

Alger Heights Foods, located on Eastern Avenue SE, closed nearly three years ago. Neighbors say they're pleased to see more business return to their community. "It's been sitting empty for way too long," says Carol Peters, who has lived in Alger Heights for 37 years. "So now we're excited about anything that would come in here, but fruits and vegetables would be great."
