Grand Valley State University says that Interactive Health Solutions, an employee wellness organization, has named the university one of the 30 "Healthiest Companies in America" primarily because of its high employee participation in wellness programs.
According to excerpts from GVSU's announcement:
The rankings were based on evaluations of key health indicators such as heart disease, diabetes, smoking and other measures of health status that are partially controlled by individuals. The companies listed by IHS vary and include government entities, insurance groups, banks and school districts. Grand Valley was the only Michigan employer to be listed.
