Holland upscale resale store in growth mode, customers shop secondhand to stretch dollar

A Holland resale shop specializing in upscale goods is in growth mode as economy-beleagured shoppers turn to secondhand stores to stretch their budgets. A move to a larger space enables the store to increase revenues for the local charity work it supports.

According to excerpts from the story:

HOLLAND -- In tough economic times, the Ditto upscale resale store has become a favorite shopping spot for many people who are trying to stretch their dollar.

"The prices and quality in the store are very good. I saved a lot today on clothes and home decorations," said Christe Faltenowski, out shopping while on a two-week furlough from her job. Faltenowski is among shoppers who have discovered the second-hand goods store.

Ditto is a nonprofit operated by Holland Christian and Zeeland Christian schools to raise money for tuition reduction for the 2,650 students attending the two parochial school districts.
