After years of construction, Michigan’s tallest residential community has opened its doors to a host of new residents. And while sales of luxury condos are tough in this economy, sales of the remaining units are expected to wrap up by January.

River House condominiums in downtown Grand Rapids is coming to life. Kristen Myers-Chatman, closing on their condos Nov. 3, five days after the grand-opening gala. Fifteen move-ins happened within the first week.
"This is a big milestone for my role," said Dan Wert, project manager. Wert drives to work from Grand Haven every day and is excited to finally see lights on in River House, the tallest residential building in the state.
Building management is occupying offices on the first floor, and residents have moved in as high as the 24th floor. Wert has known some residents two or three years, since the company began taking deposits on units.
