Description: The Director of International Development reports to the Vice President of Extended and International Operations and has responsibility for leadership, coordination and implementation of University-wide strategies, policies and activities in support of international engagement and development. The Director builds long-term, sustainable linkages with international partners and helps develop a pool of international experts that is accessible to the University community.
Requirements: Five or more years experience with international programs in an academic institution or other relevant international experience, e.g. in a government, NGO or corporate role; Experience working with post-secondary institutions; Ability to effectively interact with community leaders from many cultures: a thorough understanding of other countries/cultures/protocols. Candidate should be experienced traveling internationally; proven ability to be resourceful in developing new programs, finding solutions to problems with minimal supervision and building international partnerships; exceptional verbal and written communication skills; exceptional interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively to provide assistance and to develop solutions for complex situations in a highly decentralized environment; excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure; and proven ability to work within a culturally diverse and collaborative environment.
