Description:The individual selected for this internship is responsible for the concept and execution of a wide variety of communications projects including, but not limited to: web sites, e-mail messaging, print, transit, outdoor, signage, etc. This individual works in conjunction with the Public Relations and Communications Manager to advance The Salvation Army’s image and reputation through excellence in both the development and the execution of all applicable communications tools. The individual selected for this internship will also offer project management and administrative assistance and support as necessary.

Requirements:• Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other industry-standard design software on both Mac and PC platforms.
• Demonstrated experience in web and graphic design skills including the creation, editing, archiving and management of photos, videos, blogs, e-mail blasts and informational web pages.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Strong e-mail skills and familiarity with Lotus Notes

• The arrangements of viable credits (if applicable) will be the responsibility of the student
• The student will agree to a background check and will complete all necessary forms prior to internship start date including a statement of confidentiality
• Performance evaluation forms or criteria for credit must be supplied by the student and must be approved by The Salvation Army prior to internship start date
• Work completed by the student during the internship period can be used as a portfolio sample only with prior approval from The Salvation Army
• The student will agree and abide by the usual and customary rules and regulations of The Salvation Army
