Vizidef Display Technology

Vizidef Display Technology, founded by Marcel Thibert with design researcher Jordan VerBerg, was one of the first groups to bring integrative technology, combining static and digital displays, to the market.

New City Urban Farm

New City Urban Farm is one of Grand Rapids’ largest Community Supported Agriculture farms and continues to expand in its third season as a social enterprise focused on providing job training for youth.

MI Deals for Charity

Created by John and Shawn Tol, MI Deals for Charity allows visitors to purchase a deal outright, with a percentage of the full price going to a local charity of their choice or they can purchase the deal at a discount, with the charity receiving a smaller percentage of the deal.

Mitten Brewing Company

The Mitten team has shows its philanthropic side every month by giving to a different cause, they share ideas and ingredients with other breweries, and they even mobilize their mug club members to beautify the Westside neighborhood. 

Wege Prize

Wege Prize, an initiative of Kendall College of Art and Design with financial support from The Wege Foundation, aims to inspire students to tackle a wicked problem and design a product, service or business model that can function within and contribute to a circular economy.

Failure:Lab

Regardless of the ubiquity of failure, few people are willing to talk about it without hiding behind the success that followed or a lesson learned. Failure’s approval depends on it being wrapped nicely with a bow.

Grand Rapids Safety Ambassadors

At first glance, the Grand Rapids Safety Ambassadors resemble a group of paid vigilantes. On foot, bikes, and Segways, these uniformed do-gooders comb the city for people in need of help.
