Lady Ace Boogie: Drops new beats live with a few friends.

Saturday, Jan. 17, 8:30 p.m.
With 2015 just a few days old, the thought of going out might trigger a reaction from the center of your brain that rules your pleasure center. With a freshly minted stack of New Year's Resolutions, it is easy to see how some music fans might be tempted to just sit out a big night of local music when WYCE 88.5 FM hands out their annual Jammie Awards at The Intersection Lounge on Feb. 14.

But you don't want to miss that – and you don't want to miss one of the biggest and most anticipated releases of the new year happening this Saturday night. Since it was hinted last October that during a month of rising ice and dropping wind chills would come the newest release from the badass of bass, we've been waiting. And along with the ice and wind, Lady Ace Boogie's new LP is finally available on Saturday night at the Pyramid Scheme.

Not only are we lucky that Lady Ace Boogie, who was born in Atlanta and then raised in West Virginia, continued north to call Grand Rapids her home, but we're fortunate that with each new release we can proudly declare her bold lyrical style and thunderous bass our own.

Sharing the stage with Lady Ace Boogie are acts Convotronics, Ghost Heart, Mavericks & Monarchs, and DJ Dean Martian on the 1s and 2s to keep the night seamless and bouncing.

Don't stay home. Instead venture out and let in the bass with others who, like you, are not afraid to roam. Lady Ace Boogie delivers on this new release in a tell-it-like-it-is style hooked to a string of lyrics that is sure to inspire your soul to new heights.

Admission: $10. 21+ only show.
