Statistically speaking, within 6 weeks of the New Year a few things begin to happen in our city. Suddenly the gym lines for that elliptical machine are gone, office co-workers' bagged lunches which look like mini gardens for all the green stop appearing in the break room, and a dessert of fresh strawberries, angel food cake and chocolate laced with orange liqueur is how you will end your February 14th (psst… Valentine's Day) dinner out on the town.
If you have not guessed it by now, those created-over-champagne New Year's resolutions have completely vaporized into thin air by week six.
But if a new event from co-founder Martha Cudlipp has its way, when the Whole U GR Holistic Health Expo arrives at the end of week four on January 25, you will be able to not only find a few solutions to keep you on a healthy path, but also meet a few community vendors and new friends who will work with you all year long.
This one-day event will feature nearly 30 vendors who will showcase products and services from West Michigan, from organic juice bars to chiropractors to even a health-focused weight loss center cutely named Get Waisted. There is even a midwife attending!
Throughout the day will be conferences and classes one can attend on topics such as the benefits of a plant-based diet, holistic care for your pet, and even an introduction to acupuncture. There will even be an appearance by the Grand Band, which has been described as simply an average band of adults that play music and have a grand time.
This is a first-time event and has been created as a new way of looking at your community, most importantly with a mission to make our region stronger in so many ways.
Admission: $8 in advance / $10 at the door
