Holland pizza shop finally opening after owner’s near-death experience

Just as Frank Scimeca was about to open his downtown Holland pizza shop, Crust 54, he fell critically ill. Now recovering, he and his wife plan to celebrate their grand opening next week.

According to an excerpt from the article:

In the past five weeks, Scimeca has survived cardiac arrest, kidney failure, an eight-day induced coma and being on life support in his battle against a staph infection that attacked his kidneys and heart.

He’s now out of the hospital, on his feet, and with wife, Kathy, plan to open Crust54 on Wednesday.
