Though my job title says Customer Database Marketing (CDM), I get much more exposure to this business than just that. I first started working with the Consumer Marketing Team which handles the setup of our Buy 1 Get 1 type offers and some price drops. Additionally, I owned the Meijer Community Rewards program and was responsible for the department financials.
After 6 months, I kept the department financials responsibility but moved over to CDM. Our team uses customer and store data to influence our promotional decisions (coupons, pricing, product advertising, etc). As a CDM Specialist, I am responsible for the design and implementation of relevant couponing for our Grand Openings, Competitive, Store Specific and Cincinnati market campaigns. I also am responsible for system knowledge and testing of the point-of-sale (POS) systems as well as digital couponing. With that said, it is extremely important to stay innovative in my design and targeting.
