Van Andel Institute and Calvin College named as two of the top ten academic workplaces

WOOD-TV 8 reports that a scientific journal has ranked the Van Andel Institute and Calvin College as among the top 10 best academic workplaces in the nation. Both are in Grand Rapids.

In its July issue, Scientist’s placed the VAI as third and Calvin College eighth in its rankings, putting them ahead of East Lansing’s Michigan State University (14th) and Detroit’s Wayne State University (37th), who both placed in the top 40.

According to excerpts from the story:

“While other industries in Michigan may not be faring well, its research sector is booming,” the magazine’s Lauren Urban wrote.
