After getting by for years with just a Bookmobile pedaling library wares, one lakeshore community voted to expand the Muskegon Area District Library to leased space in a local school building in order to better serve its 17,000 residents.

MUSKEGON TWP. — Bye bye, Bookmobile.

At long last, Muskegon County’s third-largest municipality will have its own library branch.

The Muskegon Township board voted unanimously Monday night to approve a contract with Orchard View Community Education to lease space in the former Orchard View Elementary School at Ada Avenue and Shonat Street for a branch of the Muskegon Area District Library.
