Boardwalk Condominiums at 940 North Monroe has added a 36-foot by 18-foot swimming pool and a 20-person Jacuzzi to its amenities. Situated in a large courtyard, the new pool and Jacuzzi share the space with an existing reflecting pond and a fountain.
“The pool will be heated with a lot of sundeck space around it,” said developer Jon Rooks of Parkland Properties, the marketing agent for the condos. “We thought about an indoor pool, but that’s more of the type of amenity you’d use for exercise. We wanted it to be a recreational and relaxation area.”
Lush landscaping of trees and flowering plants will surround the water features and pool, which will be illuminated at night. Construction of 34 balconies for the condos overlooking the courtyard is underway. Another 33 balconies overlooking a separate forested courtyard are in the works, along with 57 rooftop decks.
In addition to the outdoor facilities, Boardwalk offers a theater room, a game room, an exercise facility, a hair salon, a coffee shop, and a restaurant and bar.
“People can really have fun right on site,” Rooks said.
All 230 units were placed on the market early last summer. So far, nearly 35 percent are sold. Prices range from about $70,000 to about $200,000.
