Looking to attract more clinical
research business, leaders in West
Michigan’s life science industry
have partnered to market the region’s expertise and available services.
ClinXus, the partnership’s nonprofit organization, is expected to increase
access to clinical research for members and eventually attract new life science
companies – creating local jobs and attracting highly trained
researchers and clinicians.
ClinXus members include Grand Valley State University, Van
Andel Research Institute, Saint Mary's Health Care, Spectrum Health, Jasper
Clinic and Grand Valley Internal Medicine Specialists. The group is actively
seeking more members from West Michigan’s biotechnology
companies.
Given the region’s fast changing panorama of expertise in life sciences,
members felt it necessary to create a “single point of contact” for potential
clients, patients and physicians. The group will initially focus on oncology, cardiovascular,
inflammatory, neurological, metabolic, endocrine and ophthalmology research.
