If a vacation condo near Lake Michigan is on your wish list, Virgin Soil Development LLC has just the place for you. Harbor's Edge condominiums—five three-story townhouses complete with two-stall attached garages and a 15-space parking area—are underway at 314-322 Jackson Street, Grand Haven, and will be completed before summer's end.
"They're very cottage-like," said Brice Bossardet, owner of Virgin Soil Development. "We went the extra mile for design creativity on the exterior with different awnings, different doors, and wood or shakes or vinyl siding to give each condo its own identity."
Bossardet purchased two dilapidated houses on adjoining lots, planning to tear one down and renovate the other. Then he discovered the lots were zoned for multi-family residences, so he razed both houses and built the townhouses in their place.
Each unit has a 2,000-square-foot open floor plan, providing lots of room for summer guests, Bossardet said. Decks off the front and back of each condo allow space for outdoor living.
Some of the city's best attractions—the Grand River canal, the boardwalk, the musical fountain, and downtown Grand Haven—are just a short walk away.
Bossardet had the condos designed with seasonal rental capabilities in mind. Prospective owners will find that each unit has already been registered as a rental property with the city of Grand Haven.
Upon completion, three of the units—two are already sold—will be available for purchase or as weekly rentals. Purchase prices range from $259,000 to $279,000; lease rate is $1,400/week.
