When Second Story Properties promised Hillmount condo residents a deck with a view a couple of years ago, they weren’t kidding. The 2,500-square-foot deck atop the six-story building was unveiled last Friday during the Downtown Parade of Homes. And the view from the rooftop had everyone saying “Wow!”
“It’s one of the few places in town you get a full 360-degree panoramic view,” says Sam Cummings, president of Second Story Properties and developer of the project. “If you’re a fireworks fan, on the Fourth of July you’ll be able to see fireworks in Rockford, Cascade, and downtown from here. Maybe even Hudsonville.”
Pioneer Construction built a special structural steel base to support the deck. The deck is located on the west end of the building to get the best view of the downtown skyline and West Michigan sunsets. Residents and their guests can cookout using the three gas grills. Tables and chairs provide spaces for eating or lounging with friends.
About 40 of the 98 condos are available for purchase, ranging from 400-square-foot studios for about $59,900 up to three-bedroom units in the low $200,000s.
