Keller Williams Realty, the country's fourth largest realty firm, announced the opening of its new sales office at 15 Ionia in the city's Heartside neighborhood. The office will specialize in urban residential properties.

"Exciting changes have been occurring in the downtown residential market the past couple of years," said Jon Jackson, president of Keller Williams Realty. "We're seeing an increased demand for information."

Diane Griffin, sales agent for the luxury condominiums at The Fitzgerald, spearheaded the idea for a downtown office. Griffin said she wanted to be in the heart of the urban residential groundswell that is taking place all over the city.

"To establish a location for the urban-focused sales that Grand Rapids is craving is thrilling for all of us," Griffin said.

Two other agents, Amy Bernhard and Melissa Allen, have joined Griffin. Information about downtown condominium projects, upcoming projects, and knowledge about the city's neighborhoods will be available at the new office to help potential buyers sort through all the options available to them in the growing market.

Keller Williams has 160 agents working from offices in Cascade and Grand Haven. The firm's annual sales volume in Michigan is approximately $300 million.
