$20M condo development breaks ground at Grand Haven Golf Club

On Friday, October 5, developers will break ground on a $20 million condominium development at Grand Haven Golf Club. The development, called The Retreat, will cater to golfers and non-golfers, alike.

The project includes 42 stand-alone cottage style condos ranging from 1,420 square feet to 2,309 square feet, with options for up to five bedrooms and three-stall garages. Features include granite countertops, vaulted ceilings, crown moldings, bay windows, and Energy Star certification.

Eight different front elevations, several exterior color packages, and four distinct floor plans enable buyers to customize their unit to fit their style.

"The unique part of this development is that buyers can select any design they want," says Lynnanne Phillips of Greenridge Realty, sales consultant for The Retreat. "That will give it more of a neighborhood feel."

The condos will be adjacent to the Grand Haven Golf Club on Lincoln Road, and just over a mile from the Lake Michigan beaches.

"I think we're going to attract professionals who have a home in Detroit, Chicago, or Grand Rapids and want to spend the summer here to enjoy the golf course and the beach," Phillips says.

Prices start in the $270,000 range. Buyers receive a free year of golf.

The model condo will be open in November.

Redstone Group is developing the property in partnership John Rooney, owner of the golf club. Design Plus designed the condos. Redstone Group is in charge of construction.
