Since 2010, The Rapid bus transit system has had a contract with Grand Valley State University to provide regular bus service between the Allendale campus and downtown Grand Rapids. Those routes are open to the public traveling west out of GR as well. As part of the contract, all GVSU students, faculty and staff ride free using their GVSU ID cards.
