GVSU and The Rapid: Getting Students to Class on Time

Since 2010, The Rapid bus transit system has had a contract with Grand Valley State University to provide regular bus service between the Allendale campus and downtown Grand Rapids. Those routes are open to the public traveling west out of GR as well. As part of the contract, all GVSU students, faculty and staff ride free using their GVSU ID cards. It's a hit with the university and with its students. Erin Babson, GVSU's Operations Manager for the downtown Pew Campus and regional centers, talks about how The Rapid helps GVSU achieve sustainability, financial and growth goals, while providing students with convenient and affordable services that get them to class on time. And GVSU students share why The Rapid is their choice for getting around town.
