New In Town

Grand Rapids is becoming more and more diverse, with people moving here from all over the country and the world. What convinced them that West Michigan was the place to be? And just how welcoming is Grand Rapids when you're new in town?

At our October Speaker Series, we'll talk with a panel of Grand Rapids newcomers - from as far away as Los Angeles and as close to home as Grand Haven - and hear their thoughts on what it's like to be a part of this exciting, growing community.

When: October 17th, 5:30 - 7:00 (Doors and open bar open at 5:00)
Where: Rockford Construction's new HQ on the West Side, 601 1st St NW

Panelists include:

Christian Gaines, Executive Director of ArtPrize (moved from Los Angeles)

David Rosen, President of Kendall College (also moved from Southern California)

Austin Langlois, GVSU student from Grand Haven (just landed a job in Grand Rapids)

Kristen Taylor, new Development Director at UICA (from California)

Maureen Noe, President/CEO of Heart of West Michigan United Way (moved from Cincinnati)

Whether you're new to Grand Rapids or have lived here all of your life, come hear some interesting stories of adjusting to West Michigan, and talk about the opportunities and challenges this area faces in attracting talent.
