Law firm merger expands services and resources for the Grand Rapids office of Clark Hill PLC

The law and professional service firms of Clark Hill PLC and Thorp Reed & Armstrong, LLP recently announced an agreement to merge the two firms. The combined firm includes more than 300 attorneys in a wide variety of practice areas, and will now be working out of 12 offices in seven states, including Grand Rapids.

For the short term, the merger's impact on the Grand Rapids office will be minimal, other than the ability to access the combined resources of the two firms.

For the mid-to-long term, the merger should drive more job growth for Clark Hill, which opened its doors in Grand Rapids in 2006 with nine attorneys and has grown to a firm of 26 attorneys in just seven years.

According to Ingrid Jensen, attorney and managing member of the Grand Rapids office, the merger is very likely to attract more attorneys to the office. "We are always looking to add talented and qualified attorneys to our team. We now have a much larger national footprint, which will make the firm more attractive for many attorneys. Also, there is not better place to work and live than in Grand Rapids."
