Local PR firm adds new talent to help with social media strategy

Charlsie Dewey has become the newest member of Sabo Public Relations (SPR). It's a personnel move triggered by both an uptick in business activity and shifting needs among firms needing public relations and marketing communication services.

Along with the traditional public relations responsibilities, Dewey will have a significant focus on social media strategy -- which, according to SPR's founder Mary Ann Sabo, is becoming an investment that many firms are making as they formalize and integrate various social media platforms within their marketing strategies.

Sabo, a professional journalist by trade, reflects on the changing public relations dynamic. "When I was at the press as a full time reporter in the 90s, I was getting press releases on when a company would launch a website," she says. Now, Sabo explains, the transformation is to a social media presence.

Dewey was one of several young, talented individuals Sabo interviewed for the position. She brings more than six years of professional communications experience to SPR.
