Mutually Human Software puts the soul back into technology

As Mutually Human Software approaches its seventh anniversary with a full head of steam, the firm remains committed to its core mission of making "technology more humane" and creating an amazing place to work.

Mutually Human currently has 10 employees, four of which were added in the last six months. There are also two open positions for a developerand and a trainer with the expectation to add two more jobs in 2013.

Samuel Bowles, VP, says the name of the firm is a direct reflection of its organizational culture, the values of the firm, and its employee development initiatives. "Our name is deeply meaningful," he says. "We think about the team, the clients, and the end users."

Bowles says employee benefits include an $20,000 annual professional development investment for full-time employees. He also says that employee benefits go beyond financial incentives. He shares an anecdote about how after he returned home following a lengthy trip to an international conference, his wife told him his co-workers had called and thanked her for letting them send her husband around the world. "It's a statement about how they think about us as people," he says.

Entering 2013, Mutually Human has become a sponsor of Start Garden. "As part of the sponsorship, we have created a special $5,000 package to help businesses that have long-term software needs get off the ground."
