As West Michigan health care organizations continue to invest billions of dollars in the construction and expansion of hospitals and medical buildings, the Grand Rapids office of Lansing-based C2AE is working to keep up with demand.

C2AE, an architecture, engineering and planning firm, recently added a LEED Accredited Professional to the company’s payroll. This new position comes on the heels of the addition of a project director and project architect specializing in health care facilities. A second project architect will come aboard in a few weeks.

“Most of our work is for hospitals, medical office buildings and long-term care facilities,” says Marcie McCann, spokesperson. “Right now our major project is the Ann Arbor Veterans Affairs project, and that’s keeping the team busy with architecture, engineering and interior design.”

C2AE entered the health care market some 18 months ago, building a team in West Michigan. The Grand Rapids office has also added engineering staff.

Another growth area for the company is the Lansing office, where the firm added 10 new jobs across multiple teams.

The company employs 100 people in four offices: Lansing, Grand Rapids, Gaylord and Las Vegas, Nev., and specializes in several fields including health care, education and transportation facilities.
