Media 1 on track for 40 percent sales growth for second consecutive year

Grand Haven-based Media 1 will celebrate a second consecutive year of 40 percent sales growth. Though the company expected to hit $1.7 million in sales, that number is going to be closer to $2 million.

"We're absolutely delighted with the revenue growth we've experienced," says Harrison Withers, production director. "Our growth is phenomenal, way beyond expectations."

Media 1 creates custom, Intranet-based training programs for clients such as Siemens and Hewlett Packard. Now they’re adding a consulting component that helps companies figure out where performance problems lie and how to solve them.

"When we talk about corporate learning, we talk about performance" Withers adds. "You can fill employees’ heads with all kinds of knowledge, but if they don't perform better it doesn't impact the bottom line. There are a lot of companies who know they're not achieving their performance goals, but they don't know what they need to do change that. We help them figure that out."

Media 1 recently added three employees, and expects to add one more in the next 12 months. Withers says the company is about as big as company leaders want it to be.

"In terms of our people growth, we're going to plateau a bit," Withers says. "I can see us adding another four people in the next three or four years. But in revenue growth, we're just getting started."
