Locally owned publisher celebrates 100 years

The numbers are hard to believe, but a mere two generations span 100 years in publishing industry. 

According to excerpts from MLive:

Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co. is in a unique position as it celebrates its 100th anniversary this month: In a century of business, it has had only two presidents.

The first was founder William Bernardus Eerdmans, who led the company for 52 years. His son, Bill Eerdmans Jr., has held the reins for 48 years.

Together, they have created a family-owned, privately held publishing company with close to 1,200 books in print, some first published more than 70 years ago.
