Joy VanOeffelen

I am the Marketing Programs Manager at LeanLogistics, Inc., a global solutions provider of transportation management system (TMS) applications and supply chain services enabled by the industry’s largest transportation network on a SaaS (Software as a Service) platform. My core responsibilities include creating, executing and measuring program plans for core initiatives. I develop lead generation/nurturing programs to support sales; manage tradeshow coordination and event promotion; evaluate and drive marketing campaigns to maximize revenue; and coordinate the development of promotional materials for marketing programs, including webinars and email marketing.
I am proud to live and work in West Michigan. I am an alumnus of the 2011 class of the Emerging Leaders Series through the Center for Community Leadership (Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce). In addition, I completed my Master of Business Administration degree in 2010 from WMU. I have been working full-time in marketing since 2004, with experience in the food & beverage, financial services, and transportation industries. In addition to full-time work, I enjoy freelance marketing and business coaching, as well as being a Big Sister Mentor with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.

Paul Wind

As an IT Implementation Specialist my primary roles include setup and configuration of the WMS and training employees in the operation how to use the WMS.  Other roles include writing up change requests from the operation, testing the fix to ensure the overall functionality of the system works properly, and working with IT and the Operation to determine the appropriate date and time to install the requested changes into the system.  Currently, my time is focused on providing technical support for a warehouse in the Midwest and a warehouse in the North East.  In this role I work as a liaison between our operation and our software's vendor to ensure there are no system issues.  A friend of mine was actually looking for jobs in the GR area and found the job I currently hold and sent it to me as he knew I was looking to get back to the Grand Rapids area.  I wanted to move back to GR as I grew up here and most of my family and close friends still reside here and I enjoy outdoor activities and there aren't many opportunities for that in the Chicago area.

Jared Schrotenboer

As a Sales Manager for Teddy's Transport I am Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in my assigned markets. I maintain current relationships to provide the best customer service available, as well as seek out new contacts in an effort to grow my customer base. I do this by utilizing any and all marketing and networking opportunities available to me, as well as spending time in the field performing follow up calls, as well as cold calls.  This also requires me to create and conduct proposal presentations to new potential customers. In addition to that I am also responsible for maintaining accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity derived from current business. I chose to move back to West Michigan for a couple reasons. One of which being that I am originally from this area and have a lot of friends and family here. The other is to be able to enjoy all of the natural splendor that West Michigan has to offer. By living in Hamilton I am able to enjoy everything from the night life in Grand Rapids, to spending time on the lakeshore; anywhere to South Haven to Grand Haven. There are so many festivities and events available to the public.  It is very easy to have a great time, and to find something that everyone can enjoy doing. I have lived in Georgia, Indiana, and Arkansas, and have yet to find a place more enjoyable then West Michigan.

Bill Kirk

I am a public liaison to citizens, businesses, and community groups in the six city area, and will also assist with The Rapid's overall marketing efforts.

Prior to joining The Rapid, I helped the Michigan League of Conservation Voters open a Grand Rapids office and served as their Communications Director from June 2008 to June 2010.  Most recently, I was a Field Organizer for the Michigan House of Representatives.

I am responsible for the Accounts Payable portion of the Accounting Department at Hoekstra Transportation. I currently enter and pay invoices; cut weekly checks to various vendors; prepare financial and other work related reports; prepare year-end journal entries; and reconcile accounts annually. My job title requires time management, organizational skills, accountability, and honesty.
