Kim Porter

With over ten plus years in the staffing industry in Sacramento California, I recently relocated to Grand Rapids and to Kelly Services.  As a branch manager for one of the top staffing companies in the country, my job entails many hats! Besides being responsible for selecting, training and developing the branch staff and for monitoring performance to make sure we achieve the highest results as possible in our recruiting efforts - I also sell! Marissa LaRiviere

My main responsibility at BenePAY involves developing and nurturing relationships with potential clients, demonstrating the value of outsourcing payroll services, and designing a solution that fits their company's individual needs.  These solutions can range from simple payroll processing and tax administration to a robust and integrative package that includes workers' comp insurance, state unemployment insurance management, time and attendance, FSA administration, background screening, and much more.  In addition, I design some of our marketing pieces, plan and organize events, and I am currently working on expanding our presence in social media.

One of the things I take pride in is that BenePAY places a strong emphasis on building a stronger Michigan and maintaining strong, local partnerships.  I enjoy working in a small-business environment that allows me to grow with the company and helps me to diversify my skills.  After two years of sending out résumés and interviewing for various positions, I was approached by our CEO at my previous place of employment, was hired as an administrative assistant and after learning the industry, grew into the sales position I hold now.  I feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to work amongst a group of premier, hand-selected industry professionals.

Samona Mills

As a recruiter in the staffing industry, my main responsibility is to provide Elwood's clients with exceptional candidates to fill their open positions. I enjoy my job because putting qualified people to work is my passion. In some ways, I feel as though I am a detective. Every time I receive a new position to recruit for, I enjoy trying to locate qualified individuals and solving the mystery of whether they are the best fit candidate for the position.  

I originally relocated to the Grand Rapids area after being promoted to a position here with my previous employer. While in the process of completing my M.B.A. studies at Davenport University, I landed my first HR position as a contract recruiter/generalist with one of Elwood's clients. We would often utilize Elwood's candidates to fill our positions, so when Elwood said they were looking for a new recruiter, it was a perfect transition!

Shelley Keller

I am responsible for growing the western Michigan market, working with a wide range of industries to provide engineering workforce solutions.  I am in charge of supplying engineers, designers, drafters, engineering managers, project managers, technicians, supply chain specialists and more for contract, direct hire, temp to permanent and project management.  

I was referred to Kelly by a former colleague.  She had just got hired by Kelly in the Ann Arbor market.  She knew they were looking for a sales rep in Grand Rapids, thought of me and encouraged me to look into the opportunity.

Megan Moliassa

I am responsible to the entire HR function at the JW; hiring, orientation, new hire training, Marriott required training, benefit explanation, coordination and maintenance (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Voluntary Life Insurance, 401 (k), Profit Sharing), worker's compensation, disciplinary action, employee mediation, conflict resolution, creating and maintaining new employee files/medical files, etc.  I also am responsible for associate events including planning and execution of a Marriott Appreciation Week, Associate and Leader of the Year Celebration, Holiday events, etc.  I am also the hotel's campaign coordinator for United Way, planning our yearly campaign.  I am a member of the hotel's Leadership Team or Executive Committee, so it is crucial to form relationships with all associates, including management to create an environment of open communication and support.  I also answer a LOT of questions!  The JW Marriott is owned by the Amway Hotel Corporation, so there is a lot of communication between properties, as well as, a very cohesive HR team between the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, the JW Marriott, and the Courtyard by Marriott.  We utilize similar policies and procedures and rely on consistency.

Lyza Ingraham

Through AmeriCorp*VISTA we are given a year long commitment to assist non-profits that grant into the AmeriCorp*VISTA grant. Bethany Christian Services has 6 VISTA's helping in all of the programs that Bethany has. I am apart of the Domestic Foster Care Department and assist with the recruitment for Foster Care families. We go to events like the Griffins in Grand Rapids, MI, expos in the area, and go do presentations at churches and other organizations. I am also assisting with the creation of a Mentoring program that will give our families more of a support system and help with retention of Foster Care families. I also get the privilege to go to a certain amount of allotted conferences and workshops that help me professionally. Automatic LLC is an RPO (recruitment process outsourcing) firm dedicated to helping corporate recruiters, HR departments, and 3rd party agencies identify and attract the best talent. As a Search Consultant for Automatic LLC, I provide a number or recruitment related services to our clients. Some of those services include name generation, sourcing, screening and interviewing candidates. My goal is to reduce the amount of time and effort it takes to find and attract top talent.

AutoSearch LLC, founded by the owner of Automatic, is a web based sourcing tool sold to corporate and third party recruiters. Jennifer Van Strien

As the Human Resources Assistant, I provide general support to the Human Resources Generalist of the Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and St. Joseph offices. I also plan and coordinate all recruiting events for accounting students from Aquinas College, Calvin College, Grand Valley State University, Hope College, and Western Michigan University. In addition, I assist with the hiring, on-boarding, and orientation of all new staff and interns.
