GiveCamp 2011 Geeks Up Zonta Club of Grand Rapids

Nonprofit organizations typically do more with less. Technology is expensive meaning charities often spend less on websites and hardware in order to spend more on their service programs to help the community. It's practical, but GiveCamp was developed to provide free technology services. Yes: free.

GiveCamp is a weekend-long event where technology professionals -- from designers, developers and database administrators to marketers and web strategists -- donate their time to provide solutions for nonprofit organizations.
Of the many organizations applying, Zonta Club of Grand Rapids was one of the charities chosen to receive a new website.

Zonta Club of Grand Rapids is a nonprofit service organization working to advance the status of women and girls worldwide. This new attractive, user-friendly website helps the Club facilitate this mission by communicating its current service projects and advocacy events to the public, soliciting donations and sponsors, and attracting new members.

“Since the new website has been up, we have experienced increased traffic, sold branded merchandise in our online store and had two requests for additional information about the Club. I consider that a success, ” exclaims Darcie Clapp, Zonta Club of Grand Rapids board member.

Thanks to GiveCamp for donating these services to our local charities. Now Zonta Club of Grand Rapids can reach more girls and women who can benefit from their services.
