New website called Pure Michigan Living celebrates state's quality of life

By Sharon Hanks

A new website called PureMichiganLiving.com was launched this week to highlight the people, places and things that make Michigan a great place to live, work and play.

"'Pure Michigan Living' is dedicated to sharing the quality of life stories in Michigan communities," says Joe Borgstrom, a division director with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority, one of the site's sponsors. The site was inspired by the Travel Michigan's award-winning Pure Michigan promotional campaign.

Borgstrom says MSHDA and the site's other sponsor, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, also want to raise the visibility of new economic opportunities in the state and to highlight the people who choose to live in Michigan and are shaping its transformation. Issue Media Group, the parent corporation of Rapid Growth and other online publications, is working with MSHDA to launch the "Pure Michigan Living" campaign.

To encourage traffic to the site, MSHDA and MEDC officials will be awarding to two randomly selected winners a weekend getaway package to a Michigan destination. To enter, state residents need to submit their "Why I Choose Michigan" stories at the site from Jan. 26 to Feb. 1.

Winners will either receive a "Two Mountain Getaway Package" donated by Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa of Thompsonville or a "Downtown Detroit Getaway" donated by the Westin Book Cadillac.
