I'm responsible for all communications for the social justice department within the Christian Reformed denomination. Day-to-day, that means managing our websites, putting out our newsletters, and updating our various social media accounts. I also create various multimedia resources - depending on the project, that could involve graphic design, video editing, or just plain old-fashioned writing.

 

The C2 Group is a video and web production shop.  I work primarliy on the web side where we design + build websites for a variety of medium to large organizations.  First and foremost, my role is to direct all sales and marketing efforts to sustain and grow the web side of our business. As such, I am responsible for implementing all prospecting and lead generation initiatives.  These include attending industry conferences and trade shows, involvement in local chapters of the American Marketing Association, aimWest, and the American Advertising Federation, and all direct marketing efforts.  The 21 year old company has been very successful on a national scale with clients in 14 states and we've grown over 300% in the past 4 years.  Additionally, we do a good amount of work through advertising and marketing agencies in other cities such as New York and Chicago.  They like our process, cost structure, and work product.  My role also includes creating new agency relationships and managing existing ones.  Ironically, the web team is virtually unknown locally as most of our clients are out of state.  As a result, I have directly focused on gaining market share in our own backyard by promoting our services with local organizations.  

I am a lifelong Michigan resident (with the exception of 4 years in Chicago) and despite the challenges we face, I love living in this state.  I encourage young professionals to come and see what is happening here.  Not only it is aesthetically beautiful, the economy is diverse and strong, and the people are of the highest caliber.  It's a great place to live and work!

 

As a technical recruiter, I work with clients and candidates to find a good match. I work actively with our client base to understand their wants, needs, and goals for hiring the right professional into their company. Understanding a company's product, process, and culture is vital to finding the right candidates. I also work with candidates to better understand their best skill set so that I can effectively match them with a company. I primarily work with engineering, information technology, finance, accounting, and human resources professionals. Our client base is diverse and covers automotive, furniture, paper, and food industries. This position requires me to have excellent communication skills as well as technical understanding of many different industries and professions.

As Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Broadway Grand Rapids, I am responsible for planning, development and implementation of all BGR marketing strategies, marketing communications, promotions and public relations activities, both external and internal. I oversee development and implementation of support materials and services for chapters in the area of marketing, promotions, sponsorships and public relations. I also direct the efforts of the marketing, communications and public relations support staff, volunteers and coordinate at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of BGR.

 

I am currently in the process of finishing my Bachelor’s degree in Marketing at Grand Valley State University.  Although my degree is focused on Marketing, I have experience in public relations, design, and event planning.  I am a driven individual who has a passion for everything marketing and thrives to provide outstanding work for her clients and employers.

Presently, I am a Marketing Specialist for 834 Baba, a non-traditional marketing, public relations firm.  I specialize in social media, event planning, and branding strategy for both 834 Baba and my clients.

 

At Williams Group, we plan, design and manage strategic communications programs. In my role as a Project Coordinator, I work with our corporate, foundation and nonprofit clients to ensure a seamless project experience by developing the right timelines, carefully tracking budgets and managing project resources. Our internal team is comprised of project managers, designers and writers, and we facilitate the project process with clients, from creative concept to successful implementation. Upon completion of my master’s degree, I was hired as a full-time project coordinator in May 2009. As an Electrical Project Engineer at Gentex Corporation my primary responsibilities focus around the successful  launch of the electrical hardware and software components of Gentex's new products. Gentex Corporation is the leading manufacturer of auto-dimming mirrors in the automotive industry. Supplying these products to nearly every automaker in the world, my position plays an important part ensuring the end products meet the customer's design and quality requirements while keeping in mind the manufacturability and profitability of the products for Gentex. As an Electrical Project Engineer I interact with people at all levels of the organization- from sales to manufacturing. Gaining more experience with our customers may allow me to someday become a Program Manager where I will manage and be the main interface with customers during new product launches.

 

As a partner and graphic designer at DVQ Studio, I help organizations bring their brands to life. From helping clients determine their core purpose and identity to developing the visual materials that support their mission, my goal is to help them connect their mission to action. My background is in graphic design, brand development, and communications.

I am passionate about creating a different kind of work environment and using my skills to help support social change. DVQ works exclusively with mission-driven clients, including non-profits and businesses with a social purpose. Our mission-driven focus is also about a way of doing business -- we are trying to create a socially conscious, inclusive workplace that does good work while being a good employer, community member, and co-worker.

I design web sites that communicate each client's story in a compelling and memorable way. I work to understand the organization's brand and business objectives, as well as the site user's expectations and desires. My goal is to integrate these into a web experience that communicates effectively, looks and works beautifully and builds meaningful relationships.

 

The main functions of my position are to act as a project manager/ instructional design consultant for external clients. My primary area of focus is in instructional technology and the development of web-based and blended learning solutions. On a day-to-day basis this may include any or all of the following: research, design, developing instructional strategies, rapid-prototyping solutions, scheduling and managing external resources, building/coding programs, and a host of other functions. On a daily basis my role can take many different directions, and that makes it interesting.

 

I maintain the communications that goes out to Chamber members and to the public, which includes managing Chamber publications, creating promotional brochures/materials, producing promotional videos, maintaining the Chamber's Web site and  also social media presence. In addition, I develop and promote the Chamber's brand by coordinating media placements and strategies that help strengthen the Chamber's presence in the business community and also promote further awareness of the Chamber's offerings.

 

In my position I develop marketing and communications for the Nonprofit Leadership Institute. I also work on web development and social media for the Johnson Center.  In my position as program coordinator I manage npgoodpractice.org, a resource library for nonprofit and foundation professionals, am a trainer for the Coming of Age Learning Labs and our selection of Board Trainings, and serve as a one-on-one consultant for nonprofit organizations in need of capacity building services.
