It is not very often these days that an act comes through and you suddenly find yourself doing the unthinkable as you get down on the dance floor in what results in a hot mess. No worries, because if you are at the upcoming Fly Moon Royalty show, you will certainly not be the only person racing to the bathroom between sets to dry your face.
Fly Moon Royalty defies labels as they chalk up soulful funk influences of Gnarls Barkley but deliver it in a hybrid of hip hop meets electronica soundscape. It is the perfect storm for dancing.
Another bonus is that this show is a bit of a homecoming for vocalist, Adra Boo, and DJ/Producer/Emcee Action J. While Boo is from the Pacific Northwest region, Action J is from Grand Rapids. (When he was in GR, Action J was a DJ with the musical act Action Jackson/Sex Panther.)
Homecomings are always special shows musically and I suspect this one will be just as pleasurable, even if just dancing is all you are up for this night.
