RendeZoo: The Best (Secret) Party of the Summer

Friday, June 12, 7 - 11 p.m.
Each summer the biggest, craziest, and hairiest party in Grand Rapids event history takes place but for many it is a mystery…but not anymore.  I'm talking about John Ball Zoo's RendeZoo – an annual event that has, at this point, become a generational rite of passage for area scenesters.

And this is not your grandmother's zoo society, as was reinforced on May 15, 2015 when John Ball Zoo joined more than 229 zoos and aquariums as a part of the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) to align our local efforts with the newly launched AZA SAFE: Saving Animals From Extinction program.

As Rapid Growth reported in 2013 in the G-Sync: Rare Intervention piece, our local zoo has become a leader in the area of conservation efforts. The AZA aims to turn zoos into a modern classroom where kids and adults alike learn about the state of the world and the environment for animals on the brink of extinction.

The 2015 watch list now includes many familiar names, like African penguins, Asian elephants, black rhinoceros, cheetahs, gorillas, sea turtles, sharks, vaquitas, Western pond turtles, and whooping cranes.

Rapid Growth recognizes and applauds the importance of our local zoo's efforts on this matter and asks that you consider attending RendeZoo. John Ball Zoo is a Top 5 cultural attraction for our state and the RendeZoo offers you a chance to see it like no other time in its history and to ensure this amazing facility continues long into the future.

You will not want to miss the newest addition with the Tiger's so close you could almost kiss them. (But don't. The biggest ones weigh 500 pounds and have big teeth.)
