Rock The Block: Southtown’s community open house is in the streets.

Saturday, June 8, 11 - 6 p.m.
Linc Up, 1167 Madison Ave SE
The 2019 Rock The Block is a beautiful, annual celebration carried out in the streets of Madison Square and invites Southtown neighbors and visitors to taste the area’s best street food, plenty of local talent, and a variety of community-focused vendors looking to connect you and your entire family to the goodness and opportunities of our region. (See their sponsor list to get an idea of that depth of experience waiting for you.)

This lively event, which is celebrating its ninth year, is produced by Linc Up, a Grand Rapids-based community revitalization nonprofit whose mission is transforming our region — including this Madison Square neighborhood where civic pride and history is reason enough for this celebration.

Rock the Block began in 2011 as a family-friendly street event where Southtown residents and guests could easily connect to local resources via the booths that line Madison Avenue. It also is a street party that provides a day celebrating the power of good food and community-centered performances.

Over the years, Rock the Block has evolved to become of the area’s newer larger street fairs rooted in Madison Square’s rich cultural history. We know it is a busy weekend with Festival of the Arts overlapping this year, but this is a festival you will want to not miss in 2019.
