Rock Bottom: The Bees Invade Grand Rapids!

Tuesday, Mar. 18, 7 - 9 p.m.
It is no secret that the secret to telling a story is a good visual. The Beehive Design Collective, a group of artists who have spent many years traveling around the country listening to the stories of America, create an impressive, beautiful, rich, graphic, and visual story of place.

Their newest work, Rock Bottom, is finally complete and they will be at the UICA for a one-night presentation that promises to enthrall all those who venture out to see the Bees.

The Bees’ story moves beyond the headlines or simply telling the news via their visual style. Instead, they offer stories through conversations, with pathways out often illustrated in a wonderful fashion.

The Bees have been to Grand Rapids many times over the years and, as always, their message is quite simple: if we are to have our voices heard, regardless of where you fall on the spectrum, the methods of community must involve some aspects of organizing, supporting, and, most of all, engagement with our community through meaningful dialogue.

If you have never seen the Bees then you are in for a treat as their high-energy, interactive, graphics-based picture-lecture will leave you diving into history as a result of their attention to detail and art.

Admission: Free. To learn more about the Bees, visit their site here.
