Winter Beer Festival: The best winter carnival in Michigan (with no rides or games) turns 15

Saturday, Feb. 22, 1 - 6 p.m.
pin Fifth Third Ballpark, 4500 W River Dr. NE
It is hard to imagine that the biggest winter beer festival is already 15 years old when the Michigan Brewer's Guild annual Winter Beer Festival arrives back at the Fifth Third Ballpark on Saturday, Feb. 22.

As a person who has attended numerous of these events since the start, I can with most confidence say they have not only grown in popularity and size, but they truly are the closest thing we have to a winter carnival (sans the rides like pop-up roller coasters with icy rails and prizes like frozen fish in a bowl at the arcade game area).

Lucky for folks looking to attend, this year's event still has a few tickets left, so you will not have to worry about meeting up with a stranger to secure a resale ticket from a chum you met on Craigslist.

So if you want to spend a day choosing which of the 1,000+ amazing beers to sample from our state being poured on Saturday, then get your tickets here before they are gone.

The event includes an opportunity not just to sample the beers on tap, but the chance to meet the brewers, which include more women than ever.

It is also the very best opportunity for people watching as you make good friends, or a chance to discover a new band from the many that will be playing live music throughout the day.

Fans of social media will no doubt enjoy the chance to be photographed next to the limited-edition ice sculpture and then warm up by the roaring fire pit that they build in the center of this pop-up beer house.

We have lots of local events that will be popping up all month in our city as we celebrate beer month, but the Michigan Brewer's Guild 15th Annual Winter Beer Festival still remains the biggest event of them all.

Enjoy your day and remember it is always best to have a designated driver or take a Lyft or Uber home to ensure the safety of all Michiganders and those who might be visiting our state. We want to see you alive and back at the festival in 2021!
