West Michigan modeling agency gets national boost

The Matthew Agency recently announced their affiliation with The Network, a national platform of modeling agencies led by "super agent" Paul Fisher, the driving force behind the popular show "Remodeled" on the CW Network.

According to the Jerrad Matthew, the agency's founder, this alliance is not only a huge opportunity for his firm and local models, but also an affirmation of the talent base in West Michigan.

Mathew explains, "The minute I saw the first [episode of "Remodeled"] and everything he represented on the show, I was impressed. I emailed his company immediately and they eventually came back. I completed the application process and one day I was told, 'you got a call from Paul Fisher.' It is a much bigger platform for local models. Within the first week of being a part of The Network, one of our models had an audition to walk the runway in Milan."

The Matthew Agency currently has a three-person staff and 140 models under contract. Being "super selective" has allowed the firm to focus on quality and grow organically. "We opened three years ago," Matthew says. "Our initial goal was to establish a local business base with our corporate clients. From day one, we never took a loan or spent money on marketing.  We rely on word of mouth and our reputation. In the last year, the business has taken off and we have expanded."
